Land Conservation and Climate

Greenbelt began conserving Essex County's land in 1961. Unknown to most people at that time were the climate challenges we would be facing today. The encouraging news is that many of the 18,400 acres Greenbelt has permanently protected since 1961 have been steadily building our region's climate resilience.

Learn more about Greenbelt's land conservation, stewardship and engagement work as they relate to climate - our strategies, impact and commitment to raise awareness and make a difference together.
