Heads-up on Hunting 
The Massachusetts primitive arms deer hunting season is December 16th through 31st (excluding Sundays). Although gun hunting is rarely allowed on Greenbelt Reservations, we recommend you wear orange or other bright colors when visiting Massachusetts trails - Greenbelt's or others - during hunting season.

 Farmland Workshops
In early December, Greenbelt hosted the National Young Farmers Coalition and more than 30 guests for Finding Farmland, a workshop on how to find and afford farmland. And on February 26th, Greenbelt will host a Farming Succession workshop for farmers nearing retirement who wish to plan for the future.These workshops are part of Greenbelt's commitment to keep farms farming in Essex County.

Conserving Land in Byfield 
Greenbelt is working to protect two important properties along the Parker River in Byfield. Conserving these places will protect high-quality wildlife habitat and marshland, help keep a centuries-old scenic landscape intact, and allow for a new Greenbelt reservation with trails and breathtaking views.

We're Hiring: Summer Stewardship Technician
Greenbelt seeks an enthusiastic and energetic intern to support land stewardship and wildlife conservation projects this summer. S/he may assist with trail maintenance, mowing, community garden oversight, Osprey/Piping Plover conservation and invasive plant species management.
