It's Osprey Season in the Great Marsh!
Right now, Osprey nests in and around the Great Marsh are alive with young chicks, giving Greenbelt's volunteer Osprey Monitors plenty of activity to watch. Greenbelt's Osprey research goals include a better understanding of the habits of these impressive creatures and protecting their summer breeding areas in Essex County.

Greenbelt is excited to welcome you to the new Castle Neck River Reservation in Ipswich. Take a stroll and enjoy breathtaking pastoral and marshland views. With 53 bird species identified in its diverse habitat, CNRR recently made the "eBird Hotspot" list!

We need your support to forever protect 31 pristine acres - including an exquisite stand of birches and river views - on River Road in West Newbury. Conserving this land will allow for new wooded trails and a footpath to the river for all to enjoy. Join Greenbelt to see the property on Tuesday, July 23 at 5:30 pm. Piping Plovers 

It's that time of year when Piping Plover chicks scurrying about the beaches of Essex County. For the past several weeks, Greenbelt's stewardship staff has helped keep these young chicks safe from predators with protective wiring and fencing at Gloucester's Good Harbor Beach. Be on the lookout for these incredible little guys!
